SOCATOTS is a developmental activity programme involving elements of football (soccer), during which children from 6 months - 5 years old practice and learn the concepts of balance coordination, basic maths, colour identification and teamwork/cooperation with others - be it peers, parents and coaches.
The length of the class depends on the age of the child:
- 30 min for Phase 1 children from 6 months to 1 year old
- 40 min for Phase 2 children from 1 to 3 years old
- 45 min for Phase 3 children between 3.5 and 5 years old
Coaches have to undertake and pass a training course with materials and guidance provided by head office. These are held at least once a year. On passing the course the coach also needs to ensure that they have a current Working With Children Check. In addition coaches will be subject to regular ongoing training and mentor monitoring and support as well as online e-learning seminars on key parts of our operations manual when necessary or when updates are required.
